Default CA Employee Training Tax Setup

    Guys,

In Califiornia I pay a .10% empolyee training tax. I checked the employer area to add this to my payroll taxes, but unfortunately I don't see where it is. As a note, this tax has been present for years and it was being calculated in previous years. Somehow it has been deleted in setup. Please help.

The CA Training Tax is the Employer SDI tax. See the bottom of this FAQ:

Paul. Thanks for your response. The quarterly tax report has a line item for ET. It I add the ET rate to SDI rate it won’t Show as a separate line item on the report but will be a part of SDI total?

It's a line item on the Employer Totals Report, one of the two reports that you should be printing and saving each pay day.

It's also on the Quarterly Tax Lability Report too.

I don't see a Quarterly Tax Liability Report. I do have a Quarterly Totals for Tax Reporting. I assume they are one and the same. I have a screen shot show 0.00 on employee trainging. I don't see a Employer Totals Report. I normally print the employees checks adn teh Quarterly Totals for Tax Reproting.

I'm guessing that your employees have exceeded the $7,000 wage limit on the CA Training Tax. See this page in the help file for the Employer Totals report:

Default CA Employee Training Tax Setup

    Hi Paul.

Please see the Employers Payroll Total Report. It should show my P/T employee wages on the the ET training tax but it does not. Please advise.

    Jim

PS I tried several times to upload a pic of the report but the system is limiting it. I tried to copy and paste into the email but the system would not paste it.

You will need to make a backup in PayWindow of your database and attach it to an email to support@zpay.com and in the email tell me the names of the employees that you said are not showing up in the report.

I received your database and see the problem. You have a Zero set in the SDI (Training Tax) Company Override setting when it should be 0.1% which is the problem.
