I would like to save myself the trouble of experimentation. Can I install and run Paywindow from a USB memory stick. I use a MAC for travel and would love to be able to just plug in a stick to a PC to do my payroll while on the road.

Windows programs rely on the entries in the Windows Registry as well as other settings in *.ini system files. Installing on a USB drive would not have access to those files on another computer.
So the short answer is no, it would not work.
