How do you enter exemptions off of a W-2 for?

In the employee setup under the Pay tab in the middle of the page for "Dependants". Federal and State entries are there.

I put in the dependents under the pay tab, but it only takes out $1.07 for Federal taxes and that seems a bit low. She should have 3 exemptions. Did I enter this right. She does not have any dependents.

If the person is low income, it's possible that they would pay no income tax when they have three or more exemptions. Generally if it is a wife working part time, it's smart to declare zero exemptions so they are not caught short at the end of year when they file jointly.

You can actually confirm the calculations with the Federal Circular E tax booklet by working out the math by hand with a calculator to check. PayWindow comes out to the penny when we do that every time.

However if you have an employee that say is a weekly payee and you've accidentally set them up as Monthly or any other greater pay period, that would account for no taxes as they would not be earning enough for the greater pay period to be taxed.
