I seem to recall this being an issue that we dealt with in the past, but it's showing up again.

I have an employee that left during the year, and moved to another state. When I plug in their new address and print their W2, PW insists on putting the new state in box 15 on the W2. Obviously this isn't correct as no tax was withheld for the state they moved to after they left. PW should be getting the state info from the state tax table I use for the employee, no?

Attach the State Tax Record to that employee and open it under open the record in the State Tax Tables editor and enter your state TX ID. Then in the Company settings, select Enable Multi State Processing. That's the only way to use a state and that info for someone with an out of state address.

Multi-state processing... that's the part I forgot. It probably didn't pop into my head because I'm not really multi-state processing... I'm only paying tax in PA for this client. But I get that's how the program sees it. I'll try to remember next time. TY.
