I need to charge the employee with their share of the unemployment tax. It’s a percentage. I created a deduction titled UC Employee and gave it a percentage in the employee section. When I click on pay, this does not calculate and populate the UC Employee field. What am I doing wrong?

First, what state are you in, if you are in a state that has an employee share, it is already set up in the state tax tables?

You would just need to enter your override in the Company Override setting.

Let me know and I will direct you to where you need to go.

Thank you, Paul. I am in PA. If it's in the tax tables, I would override it because each rate is unique to the employer. The company override setting only has the employer amount for unemployment. I guess that's why it's confusing me.

Yes PA is in the tax tables and the default rate for employees is .07% and can be changed in the Company Override for each company database. In he Company Override in the Company settings, it is the SDI Employee Rate, but set both the employee and the employer rates and check the override checkbox too.

I don't know if you 'll be able to see this image, as it has to be less than 97 kb, so the image becomes deteriorated. I have the I have SDI override checked, but it doesn't calculate and populate the field in the employee detail when I click to pay F6. Sorry for the delay in getting back to you today. Thank you for your assistance, Paul.

Perfect screen shot and I see your problem. .0006 is actually a number to use when using a calculator. Our instructions tell you that you need to convert that number to a Percent by moving it left by two decimal points.

The number should be .06%

That number you had would calculate a number so miniscule that it would not display.

Yeaaah, thanks so much, Paul! Apparently I missed that info in the instructions. I appreciate the assistance, thanks again.
