PayWindow 16.0 will not run on windows vista home

Happy new year, I download the 16.0 update to very old windows vista home edition box. It would not run?

It even runs on Windows XP so I'm guessing it may be being blocked by your antivirus software. We are seeing that happen lately where aggressive AV software needs to be closed before installing.

Glad to hear 16.0 runs on Windows XP. Not sure why, but I cannot get the program to update on my computer running Windows XP. I even turned my Norton Internet Security to Silent Mode, and when I click on the Paywindow Updater.exe, the program just never launches. Any advice would be appreciated. I have been using the program for many years and updated with no problems previously. Thank you.

Problem solved. It was the Norton. In addition to turning on Silent Mode and Disabling the Smart Firewall, I also had to disable the Auto Protect. That is what finally allowed me to run the updater.exe program.

Norton and a few others are getting so aggressive it's almost impossible to install anything on a computer any more. Maybe you can write to them as a customer expressing your problems that they caused. I'd appreciate it. :-)
