I closed my medical office this year. Do I need to purchase 2018 update to complete my 2017 taxes?

If you print your 940 form and do not have an accountant do that for you, you will need PayWindow 2018 as the form was just added to that. You can use PayWindow 2018 for up to 30 days from installing it in Trial mode. Then you can drop nus an email asking for a link to reinstall PayWindow 2017.

Just a idea as I am also selling my business I printed out my 2017 numbers on the included 2016 form. and then went to the ' .Gov ' online fallible 2017 form, and just transferred the numbers over . the forms are the same

Or if you actually need the form to mail in, you can follow the instructions we had in our newsletter we sent out:

"If you are closing down your company and will not be performing payrollsin 2018, wait until you need to print the 2017 end of year reports as you candownload and install PayWindow 2018 and use it for 30 days in the trial mode toprint your reports."
