Greeting,

Brand new to zpay. Setup one and only company and employee. I have the registered version of zpay.
When I go to pay myself - it shows the Earnings (over $3K) - but $0.00 for every other field. I stuck with all the default settings when I setup myself as the employee (not exempt from any taxes).

The above is true even if I change Fed/State Exemptions to 0 on the transaction details screen.

How do I fix this?

Thanks,

It sounds like you set yourself as a Non-Employee Payee in the Employee Type setting which they do not have any taxes taken out. So when you click the Pay Button, it just moves the Earnings to the Net Pay.

Did you watch our video tutorial on how to add employees? It shows the settings for all types of payees. This s the link to that video:

Hi Paul,
Yes, watched the video. I was set as a Salaried employee. Even changed to Hourly and back to Salaried again. Same results - $0.00 in all fields other than Earnings. As hourly - as a test - earnings are $123,918.80 - taxes = $0.00

I would do a screenshot - but forum system denies every attempt at attachment upload due to size (which must be set to 0)

Did you click the Pay Button to calculate the taxes as seen here in this Tutorial?

I that is not what you were missing, call us tomorrow and we can go over what you have there.

Wow, my bad. Clicking on the Pay button is the trick. Thanks Paul. Now I just have to go in and recreate all the paychecks from this year and hope all the figures match what Quickbooks calculated.

I never would have thought that was the problem as our Tutorials that show how to pay explain that in detail as does the help file on how to pay. For year to date information, see this Tutorial as it can save you a lot of time:

Thanks Paul. It was NOT your tutorials. It was my tired brain. Was trying to get it setup way too late at night. Since I didn't renew the QB payroll updates - It wouldn't even let me do a 941 form which is due shortly. I promise to watch all the tutorials "carefully" before submitting any more dumb questions.
