Sirs,
Began my P/R this a.m. by downloading the .20 update. Download was interrupted by error
Program Files (x86)\PayWindow Payroll\paywin.exe

An error occurred while trying to rename a file in destination directory.

Move file failed: code 183.

Please help, I did not have trouble with the .19 but I don't remember seeing the (x86)
before.

PayWindow was not shut down and the setup could not replace the locked files. Go to our download page and download and install PayWindow over what you have.

Sorry, but simple did not work either. Same error message.

Shut down and restart your computer as it sounds like Windows has a lock on the PayWindow file and after restarting, use the link to install PayWindow in my last reply.

Still doesn't work. Caption still is...Windows can not access the device, path, or file.
You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the Item.

Call us this morning as you have a serious problem there as hundreds of downloads re happening each day without problems. It will be faster to go over what you are doing on the phone.

Thanks, Mr Mayer, the anti-virus was the culprit. I am back up & running.

Having the same issue, but I have .20 release installed successfully on my laptop, but not so good on my desktop. Both computers run the same anti virus software so I don't think that is the issue as Phyllis figured out her problem. I've tried everything you have suggested above, but paywindow won't even open now and that is after I rebooted. I thought about uninstalling and reinstalling the program but have misplace my unlock code can you email it to be again? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

I had her uninstall PayWindow, reboot the compute, shut down all programs running in the background including McAfee antivirus and then download the PayWindow setup from the website to her Desktop and RIGHT Click the Icon and select Run as administrator and it completed as expected. McAfee's going crazy with their over aggressive protection and is giving software publishers so many problems.
