New York Paid family leave act

I did read you post on the NY Family leave act in the read only section. your example deals with regular employees, I have a bunch of students working about 20 hrs ($200) a week (but I do pay biweekly), would I be able to set it up as the percentage (0.126%) of their wage since it will be under the SAWW for those employees ? Do you know if officers are exempt like workers comp ? For regular employees do you have to do these calculation each payroll ?

I would suggest that you talk to your accountant as you will need to come up with a dollar amount like the state suggests to enter in the deduction that you will create for your students. On the regular employees, if they earn approximately the same pay each payroll, you would not need to recalculate the deduction.

Again, get guidance from your accountant on the workers comp question too.
