Lost accumulated payroll from January to April 2017

I just paid for May and noticed QTD and YTD were not recorded. I do not know what I did differently, EXCEPT on opening screen I got an unfamiliar message when I tried to go directly "next." I may have started a new year somehow, but now need to get rest of 2017. How do I do that? January to April seemed to be accumulating at the time I did them. I do have the saved data from those months in separate files.

Everything is stored in your company database. If you click on Transactions from the Quick Launch on the left side of the screen, do you see any 2017 transaction s or just old past years transactions? If not the 2017, you opened the wrong database, an old one.
