I have been running windows XP Pro for years. Today I downloaded the latest version of Pay Windows and when I try to open the 941 form it is blank.

I'd guess that you may need to update your Adobe Acrobat as the form is the official IRS form and most likely was created with the current release of Adobe Acrobat.

Just a follow-up. We dug out and set up the old XP machine we had in storage and tested the current release on it to see if it was a problem with the older version of Adobe Reader. That machine has version 9 which is quite old and it worked as expected. I'm not sure how old the Acrobat release you have is but we confirmed that version 9 is still good.
Tossing some ideas around, it may be the antivirus software blocking PayWindow from accessing Adobe Acrobat. If you have version 9 or newer, try disabling the antivirus software to see what happens.
As slow as that old XP machine is, it's hard to believe I ever had the patience to work with that computer. :-)

I have this problem as well. I am also a longtime Zpay customer. I did move to a new computer recently, but my paywindow found my company info and everything seems to be working normally - except the 941 report. I too am seeing just a blank form. I have the latest acrobat reader, and it is opening in that.

You said you are on a new computer, is it Windows 10? Windows 10 changes the PDF file association to point to their new "Edge" browser which causes problems with fill in the blanks forms. If you are on Windows 10, see this FAQ:

Hi Paul,
I wish that was the problem - an easy fix! No, I already have Acrobat reader as my default, and the file opened in that, but all I see is the blank form.

Two things to try then, first since the IRS forms use blue ink and if your printer is out of blue ink, the driver will not print the data. Set the printer properties to monochrome if that is the problem.
The other is some software on your computer is blocking PayWindow from poking the data into the PDF form. The first thing you may try is to right click on the PayWindow Icon and select Run as administrator to see if that will do it. If not shut down all software running in the foreground as well as in the background including any antivirus and anti-malware softer and see if that does the trick.

I was trying it again today (I need to get my Federal tax deposit in) and noticed something . . . When Acrobat pops up with my blank form, it's not totally blank - the checkbox for quarter 3 has been checked off. So this means some data is connecting to the form, does this give you any ideas for what my problem might be?

Yes I know exactly what is happening, that checkbox is black and all the rest of the info is blue in the form. You are out of blue ink in your printer. Set the printer to print in grayscale (black and white).

I'm not trying to print it though, I'm just looking at the form in acrobat, and see nothing filled in but the checkbox. (When I do print these forms I'm using my Laser printer which is only Black & white)

That cant be the problem - I'm not actually printing the form, just looking at it in acrobat.

The PDF printer uses the "default printer" settings to fill the form. Select your Laser printer that I Black and White as the default printer. What happens when you actually print the form?

Well it has to be something on your computer as with over 9,000 users no one else is having the problem, one of the things below solved anyone that had such a problem. The only other item that has ever caused a problem is having some sort of third party PDF software installed. One other thought comes to mind to is maybe a security software issue? Right click on PayWindow and select Run as administrator to see if that is it. But I really don't think that has anything to do with it.
LOL, someone across the room here said to ask if you are color blind to the color blue. I'm sure that is not it either.

Well, not so funny when I have to get my deposit taken care of in the morning . . . Can you tell me which other reports I get get the information from to fill out my 941 by hand, and to figure out my September tax deposit? I would really appreciate your help with this!

Yes the Tax Liability Report which is what was originally used in PayWindow before we added the actual 941 Form many years ago and is the default Tab when you open the Tax Reports selection in the Report Center.
