I have to generate payroll checks with interest payment for prior wage adjustment. The interest is not subject to payroll taxes. How can I show this item on the check without taking payroll taxes on the interest portion only.

The simplest way would be to write a check for the interest from your general checking account. To do it in PayWindow would require that you set up a special deduction like we have for auto expense reimbursement. See the FAQ at this link:

But then you are stuck with that one time deduction in PayWindow so the cleanest and easiest way is to just write a check from the account that you pay your bills from.

Thank You for your assistance. I will use the special deduction as I have multiple checks to write due to the Piece Rate Adjustment legislation in California, I do not wish to make duplicate checks and complicate the issue further.
