I have a customized check printing format. Everytime I upgrade, the upgrade overwrites my customized copy of the check printing format. This then, requires me to log in as administrator and overwrite the default version. I just recently did this for the annual upgrade, and now I need to upgrade again for the 2016 941 form. I'm hoping there is an easier way to upgrade PayWin without losing the customized files everytime.

Please follow the instructions on keeping a backup of your check format file and restoring it every time you update PayWindow. It is the bold red text in the FAQ at this link:

Yep, I have been doing that for years. It is just annoying, thats all. It would be nice to do an upgrade after the annual upgrade, that only updated the changed files and not everything. Just a wish list type thing.

The problem is that it is so easy to really blow up the check design when editing it and if you read our instructions, the only way to fix that is to reinstall PayWindow.
If we did not install the entire package, even a bad disk sector can corrupt a report file and then a simple reinstall would fix the problem as it can for a botched check format edit.

We came up with a way to protect your Custom Check Formats:
New in PayWindow 2016 Build 14.0.11:
For all that have edited the check format... New feature, Edit and Save Custom Check Format that will not be overwritten by updates and upgrades of PayWindow.
See the instructions at this link:
