Hi Paul, I am having an issue that I have never had before and can't figure out. In doing the 1Q15 941, my 2, 5a, and 5c match, but don't match the employer totals that I pay bi weekly. I looked at the post from 4/30/15 titled "941 Form Line 2 Different from Line 5a and 5c" and checked to see if there were any boxes checked. None were, and she has been with us for many years. It is her total pay for the QTR. I am also having the same problem with another employee from a different .dxi but only for her first pay period. how can I fix these?

Thanks,
Jay

Now that employees can be exempt from FIT if they match certain rules, did you mark some employees as exempt from Federal Income Tax?

See this FAQ for an explanation:

Not that I can see in any of the fields in the employee's tabs. It has only affected a few employees randomly. There were no changes made either before or after. The 2QTR was ok for this employee. Any ideas?

OK, if that was not the problem, then you need to do some serious detective work as the 941 audits the stored transactions. This FAQ gives you all the things anyone has ever done to make a problem like that:

I have checked everything, and found that somehow the agricultural worker box was checked. The only thing I cannot figure out is one employee at one store that was paid only on the first pay period of the year total gross is missing only from box 5a. I have checked all boxes and fields and they all look right. Any ideas?

You can send me a backup of your database to me and I will edit the raw data to uncheck the Ag Worker flags in the transactions for you and return the backup to you.

Please see the instructions at this link to send us your database:

http://zpay.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?1449-How-to-Send-us-your-Backup-Database

Also tell me who that one employee is in the email you send.

I received the database backup from you.

After opening the database none of the employee transactions were set as 943 workers at all.

Then I saw the employee's transaction for the name you gave me for January 2015 but no matching employee record for her in the Employee’s data table.

Here is what I think you did. You paid that payroll in 2014 and then ran the end of year tool to hard delete old employees leaving her 2015 payroll transaction.

I added her back as an employee but you will need to open her employee record and enter the data that I do not have since the payroll transactions just have employee ID, name and amounts.

The edited database was sent to you in email.
