This has been going on for several months. Every time I install a new update I lose my previous payroll. I have had to reenter the previous payroll several times this year and have been so frustrated that I decided I would not use Zpay next year but would limp along until year end.
So this morning I installed the latest update and I lost all data. My payroll now goes though 4/14. I have tried restoring my payroll with my back up dated 8/31/15 and it says it has restored the data but has not!!! Payroll is still through 8/14.:mad: I also do payroll for several companies and they are all gone except the company I had open when I installed the up date! Please help

I install PayWindow more times that anyone of our users as I install it at least four times we have an update to first test the setup to be sure it is doing what it should, then to test the download link, and then to install the previous version so I can use the update checker to be sure that is working properly. And I have never lost the pointer to the last used database.
I'm wondering where your databases are stored? If they are in a non-Windows preferred folder or something? The Windows preferred folder is in the "Documents" or "My Documents" folder on your computer. Our default folder is the "PayWindow Data Files" folder as a sub-folder of the "Documents" folder.
Knowing that and if you keep to that "standard", even if something should happen, all you need to do is to open that data folder and double click on the company database you want to use to load it in PayWindow.
You also have the "Pick List" when starting PayWindow to pick the last file or another recent file to open when starting PayWindow. That is the small down arrow button to the right side of the "Select Company" item shown as Item 2 on this page of the help file:
http://zpay.com/pw-online-help/WelcomeWindow.htm?mw=MjMw&q=Y29tcGFueQ==&st=Mw==&sct=MA==&ms=AAAA
Any one of these items above should allow you to open our company files. If you still have a problem, call me and I can set up a web meeting where I can see your screen and show you how to do these things.
