I have used PayWindow for years. When I originally set it up, I used alphabet characters for their employee code. I am now up to EEEE. I thought I remembered you can do it, but it must be at the end of the year. Can you direct me to an answer on this and if TimeClockWindow must be done at the exact same time or can it be updated in the middle of a pay period?

Thanks!

You can get a database ready for the new year today if you want. First make a copy of your current database, see this page in the help file:

http://zpay.com/pw-online-help/CopyandRenameFiles.htm

I'd use the year for the file name as suggested. Then double click on the new copy of the database to pen it in PayWindow and run the End of Year tool to delete all transactions.

Then open each employee and change the Employee Codes to what you want.

This Next Step is to get a new TimeClockWindow Database that will be ready for the new employee ID's as you cannot simply change them in TCW without loosing all tike punches.

Since TimeClockWindow ID's rely on the PayWindow ID's you will create a New TimeClockWindow database to use with the new employee ID's in that new company file you created.

Use this Tutorial and import the company and employees from that new company file:

After following all the instructions, when I open PayWindow this is what I have for where the files are:

COMPANY: Users\Karenboud\AppData\Local\Temp\Temp1_karensklo set12-31-14.zip

TAX TABLE: Users\Public\Documents\Pay Window Tax File

DATA: Users\Karenboud\AppData\Local\Temp\Temp1-karenskloset12-31-14.zip

Is this right? (And I have no idea how this happened.) HELP!

Thanks!

You are pointing to a ZIP file which is a compressed backup file. You will need to call us and maybe we can setup a web meeting to see what you have and try to fix it the way it is supposed to be.
