I have used the Misc deduction for our second local tax(school tax) which is submitted for all employees living in our county. It does print up on the W2 under #14 other but does not print on my W3 form. I looked at old W2s and the firm that handled our W2s in the past printed it on the second line of box 20 and listed it as school tax. How do I get the total to print on our w3 form for 2014? Is there anyway to print the second local tax in the local tax box if I already have 1 tax printing in the box?

Thank in advance

Vicki

The only way you can get it to print in box 19 Local income tax would be to set it up by deducting both local taxes in the local tax record. An example is if one local tax is .5% and the other is .5% you would set the tax rate at 1%.

Or the other option is to purchase the W2Express program where you can edit the W2 Forms and the print them on plain paper and submit them on-line to the SSA. See this page in the help file:

So there isn't a way to get the school tax to print on the W3 unless I combine the local tax amounts even though they are remitted to different agencies? Since one tax is only for those employees living in the county and not all my employees have both taxes taken out. So I would have to set up multiple local tax rates then one for the employees subject to both taxes and one for employees only subject to one tax? I will look into W2 express. That might be my answer.

Thanks

Yes the multiple local tax records attached to the respective employees would be the perfect way to do what you want.
