View Full Version : What am I missing here?

This has been vexing me for some time now, but I kept forgetting to post about it. It just happened again so I'm going to post now before it leaves me head one more time.

I create a custom state tax table (as a new listing under the state name) and the next time there's a tax table update, it vanishes. Even something as simple as going into the PA file and unchecking the SDI box doesn't stick. I turn off the SDI and do payrolls for a few weeks with no problem. I apply a patch that includes a table update, or just update tables themselves (which you sometimes HAVE to do) and inevitably some paychecks get thru with SDI withheld, or worse, a check gets thru with no state tax at all.

It doesn't seem logical to me that this is the intended way for the program to work, so it's surely something I'm not doing right. For as often as the program updates, and the various states update their tax tables, it just doesn't make sense that it's by design that custom or modified tax tables should revert every time. So what am I missing? Is there a don't update flag or something?

The federal and state tax tables are installed with every tax update and or program update. So if you've created a "state tax entry" you would need to recreate it after each update.
