The mailing labels print without a CITY on the label. Everything else seems to be there. Can this be fixed ASAP?

Also, the labels print perfectly at the top of the page, but in each subsequent row the data is printed higher and higher on the label. By the time they get to the bottom row, the type is too high and is partly on the label above it. Please advise.

I cannot reproduce the error here at all.

I am assuming you are referring to the Mailing Labels in the Report Center under the "Misc. Reports" section and under the "Mail Labels" Tab.

Is this correct?

Yes, that is correct.

My labels look like this:

first name, last name
street address
state, zip

The city is not printed.

That is very strange. We've never had a problem with that before and testing here on a handful of the computers in our offices, no problem.

I wonder if you have a corrupt form file. Uninstall PayWindow and download and reinstall it from our website and see if that fixes the problem. If it does not, send me a backup of your database to test with. See the instructions at this link:

I've uninstalled and reinstalled and am still having the same problem. I poked around a bit and noticed something that might give you a clue. It's only when I select PAID EMPLOYEES in the GROUP BUY section that I get this error. Any other selection I make includes the CITY on each label. If you still need me to send my backup just let me know and I'll do that.

Thanks, you've pinned it down and I was able to reproduce the problem. This should be fixed in the next update. No need for your backup.

The problem was in the report file. As we are working on an export to our new TimeClockServer software in PayWindow right now, the new build will not be released until some time next week.

If you in a hurry for the mailing labels report file, send me an email asking for it and I will attach it to a reply. You would just save the file replacing the existing on in the report subfolder of the program folder.

Interestingly enough, I'm having mailing label problems again. They have been working fine these past two years but now as I'm trying to print labels to mail my W2s and 1099s, I'm getting incomplete labels. The first label on the page looks ok but all of the subsequent ones have only two lines (not city, state, zip). Can you help me out? Thanks!

I'm not sure what your problem is as I just tested a large company and printed several pages of mailing labels without any problem. All labels printed as expected, I wonder if you had a printer problem or something. What do you see if you do a Print Preview of the labels?

Actually, until your response, I was only referring to what I was seeing in Print Preview. I just went ahead and printed the labels and they came out exactly as they look in Print Preview....the first label on the page is complete and all of the others are only two lines, not city/state/zip. I rebooted my computer just as a precaution and the problem is still there. I have the same printer I have always used and it has always worked fine in the past. Any suggestions of what to try?

Try just doing the Print Now and see what happens as we cannot replicate it but do no that some third party PDF programs and Microsoft's new Edge Browser causes problems too.

What release of Windows is on the computer and what printer make and model are you using?

Another customer had a similar problem not labels but another report, she just wrote me saying:

++++
Got the problem resolved. Installed on another computer and recovered company. Everything worked fine.

Uninstalled and reinstalled on original computer and recovered company. Same problem. However discovered that the default margins had changed. Restored original default margins which are 0"/0". Everything is okay now. Many thanks for your help!!
++++

Check your margins and see if that is the problem.

That did the trick! I sure don't understand why, but thank you very much!
