What exactly happens when I go into options and clear the recently viewed list in the log in window? Is it a one time clear, and then entries will reappear once I start switching companies again, or will it continuously clear that list?

It will delete all entries and then start accumulating them again building a fresh list. Most useful for accountants that have been using PayWindow for many years and gained new and lost old clients through the years.

So, as long as I have all of my 2013 data backed up elsewhere my current company data should be fine? I assume I will just have to access 2014 data by closing the company instead of logging off?

You can actually change companies by simply selecting Fie and Open Company to switch to another company. However, you get them into the pick list, they must be selected on startup of PayWindow using the three dots button to open the File Open Dialog.
