Here's something I can not figure out. I thought I had made an 'operator error' but the situation has happened many times so I will report it.

I entered the commission on 2 employees using the drop down calculator. The first employee's commission works out fine, but it is the second employee's commission that has an error. When I enter the commission on the payroll form, the commission amount shows up but it is not added to the total pay. I print out the check and the commission is gone. This has happened numerous times, and as I said, I thought I made some type of error. Here is a screen shot of the payroll entry form and a .jpg of the paycheck. I think this only happens when I use the built in calculator (but I am not certain and I have not tested this premise.) When I go back to edit the pay record, the payroll amounts are correct and I can print out the check with all the right computations. (the jpg of the check will not load into the attachment screen)

PayWindow is not designed to use Commission for Hourly Employees. See the setup for Commissioned employees, the Employee Type must be C for Commissioned, looking at your screenshot you have an hourly employee set up there. See these pages in the help file:

I have been using this program for 2 or three years and have been paying the same: hourly with commission on sales and I have never encountered this before.

It looks like you've figured out a way to trick PayWindow into paying commission along with hours. Something that we never designed it to do. I just tested an hourly employee and sure enough it did work.

I'm not really sure what your problem is though as looking at that screenshot it does show the commission and regular pay in it.

Yes, the commission shows on the screenshot, but not on the check. If you do the math and add the pay and subtract the deductions, you'll see what I am talking about. The net pay is off the amount of the commission. Again, this only happens with the 2d person paid and it just started happening this year. And am I the only employer who pays and hourly wage + commission. As I said I have been using your program for 2 or 3 or more years.

I cannot replicate it here no matter how I try to break it even though we never intended to allow commission be paid to hourly employees in the first place.

If you want, you can send me a backup of your database to support@zpay.com telling me in the email who the employee is and I can take a look at what you have and test here.

I have already fixed the amounts for this pay period. After the error was discovered, I edited the pay record and paid the employee the correct amount. I deleted the old, incorrect, backup and backed up the correct one. I will see if the error occurs on the next payroll and if it does, I will email you the backup file with the error.

I discovered that this only happens when I use the 'calculator' attached to the box for commission. If I enter the commission directly, without using the calculator, the error does not happen. When I use the calculator the commission, the error occurs. BTW, many businesses use hourly + commission when determining pay.

Thanks for catching that, pressing the tab key will move it to the Commission entry field after using the calculator but this calculator problem will be fixed in the next release.
