View Full Version : 2012 FICA Total on W3 Does Not Match Quarterly 941 Totals

In completing my 2012 federal income tax return, I am noticing that my total FICA taxes from Line 5a Column 2 on my quarterly 941's totals $3816.54 while my 2012 W3 shows only $3082.59. I thought I had followed all instructions regarding printing out year end W2s and W3s to the letter. What went wrong and how do I correct the problem?

The 941 Form audits the stored payroll entries by calculating the correct FICA and Medicare taxes for the year while the W3 uses the stored payroll entries. Since this is 2013 and now the FICA taxes are higher, you cannot use PayWindow 2013 to try and find the problem, you would need to reinstall 2012.
