Our business is located in Oklahomo. We do not have SDI. How can I remove the letters SDI from Box 14 Other on my W-2?

Hanna, you posted your question in a message thread about using W2Express for clergy so I moved it to a new message thread.

Are you asking about W2Express or are you printing the W2's in PayWindow? If W2Express you would need to contact their support.

If PayWindow, I'm guessing that you may have done something by accident. I'm going to assume that you did attach the Oklahoma tax table to your employees so will eliminate that possibility.

Did you possibly click the setting to override the SDI tax in the company settings as seen on this page in the help file?

http://zpay.com/pw-online-help/SUTARateSDIOverrideTab.htm

Or accidentally open the state tax record to view it and accidentally click on the check box as seen in the example state edit on this page in the help file?

SDI only prints if it is selected to be used in the tax record or the override.

Mr. Mayer,
Thank you so much for moving my thread, and thank you for your answer and suggestions. I checked in the company settings, and I did not have a check mark in the override SDI box. I also checked in the state tax record, and again, the box "Is there SDI tax" was not checked. As for attaching the Oklahoma tax table to the employees, that was done. I've used your program for few years now, and this is the first time I've encountered this problem. If you have any other suggestion, I'm all ears. Thank you in advance for you time and consideration. Hanna

Also, just for "fun", I pretended to run W-2s for 2013, and the letters SDI does not show up on them. No changes in the settings from from year to the other, but still the letters SDI: prints in Box14 for 2012 W-2s. Kind of odd, I think, so any help or suggestion will be greatly appreciated. Thank you! -Hanna

Send me a backup of your database so I can inspect the payroll transactions to see if any were stored with the SDI flag during the year. reference this message thread in the email so I know why the database backup was sent.

See the instructions here:

I received the backup file and I found the problem. Whitney Soule had SDI deducted on 8/24/2012 and 9/7/2012 (her first two payrolls) and I see it was because she has the Washington State tax record attached to her on those two payments. I see that you corrected her record afterwords as the rest of her payroll transactions are Oklahoma.

I edited those two records to set them to Oklahoma and deleted the SDI tax and made a backup that you can restore to print the W2 Forms. Check your email for the backup file I sent.
