View Full Version : FICA employee tax rate at 6.2% for December 2012 paycheck?
PayWindow is using 6.2% for employee FICA (paycheck dated Dec. 30, 2012).
(What -- was the tax holiday over last week?)

Did you pay December 31st today? The January 1st Tax Tables were posted on our site at midnight ready for today and if you installed them that's what happened. And yes, the employee FICA rate was set back to 6.2%.

So is 6.20% correct for December pay period?

No, it is effective January 1, 2013. If you back dated the payroll using the 2013 tax table then it is incorrect.

Do you have a suggestion as to how to fix this?
I updated the program on 1/1/2013 in order to do the December Payroll.
I tried to do a restore to my last backup dated 12/15/2012, the restore was successful but the tax tables are still using the 6.2% FICA withholding rate.
How can I restore the 2012 tax tables?

See this page in the help file:

Set the Employee FICA rate back to 4.2% do what you need to do and then make sure to set it back to 6.2% for any 2013 payrolls.
