California deducts .01% training tax. We have never paid this before. When I updated the California 'standard' tax section to the program, the training tax did not deduct from the paychecks. I attempted to manually put in the heading and %. During calculations, the deduction still was not performed. I manually put the deduction in on each employees record during the calculation session. The system deducted the amount showing the new net pay. When I tried to print the checks, I received this message. I clicked OK and the program started to run a report, but the "bar" only went half way and stalled. I managed to transfer the information to manually write the checks, but I still need to resolve this issue.
ERROR MESSAGE:
An error occured during calculating
[dbPx."fTDeduct21YTD"]
Report:
Object: Memo69
Undefined symbol "DBPX."FTDEDUCT21YTD''

I thought about a restore, but I never haved needed to before and was confused by the instructions. Help please. Thanks Gail

Training tax is the employer's tax, not a deduction from the employees and is only a tax on the first $7,000.00 of the employee's wages and stops once they exceed the limit.

Download and install PayWindow over what you have to fix that error you got.

Thank you for the tax info, I mis-read the letter we received.
I did as you said 3 times and I still get the same error message.
I tried deleting the entries for the 11-15 payroll, set the last paydate to 10-31, backed up program close and reopened it again. Set date to 11-15 and tried entering payroll again. When I tried printing the checks, the same error message appeared again. What kind of mess have I created for myself?:confused::sad:

Is the Bug Report Tool popping up like you see in the help file at this link:

http://zpay.com/pw-online-help/module_6_1.htm?mw=MjMw&st=MQ==&sct=MA==&ms=AAAA

We would need to receive the bug report in order to know what the problem is. Also when you have PayWindow open, what version number is it showing in the top left of the program?

It just dawned on me, you said the error pops up when printing checks. Is that correct? If so is that a custom check that you or someone edited? That may be the problem, the check file is corrupted. If you've been replacing it every time you update, do not do that and see if you have a problem printing checks with our installed check format files.

The developer confirmed it, your check file is corrupted, delete the files in the PayWindow Payroll\Report\ folder and download and reinstall PayWindow to fix the problem.
