View Full Version : adding department - won't allow calculation of hours

I added a new department, added that department to the employee, assigned a pay rate for that department for that empoyee. Then I tried edit an existing transaction to reflect work done under a different department that was not entered previously.

However, it will not calculate those hours under the "Enter Hours" tab, and they subsequentiently are not showing up in the pay tab.

The new department does work when I start a new "Pay" window, but not when editing an existing.

Should this be the case? Is there a way to fix that?

The existing transaction has stored the old settings. Delete the transaction, set the date to that pay date and repay the employee. See this FAQ on how to delete a transaction:
