Some entries in Commission box not being saved. I do not think this is my fault for not clicking on "Pay" and "Save," since I would have had to forget 4 times last month, & having used ZPay for years, it is habit for me to do so.
Net pay totals are changing to a figure that does not include the commissions. Don't discover this until quarterly totals do not match. Have to go into transactions & edit each individual's checks from past dates.
Thank you,
nw

Are the employees setup as Commissioned Employees? This is factor one as when you go into pay mode, it opens the commission entry screen like see in the tutorial at:

http://zpay.com/help/PayCommissionedEmployee.htm

View that tutorial as it is the only way to pay commissions.

Also you MUST calculate the pay and taxes only AFTER entering in the commission else it will not calculate properly if the commission was entered as an after thought after the taxes have already been calculated.

For more information on paying Commissioned employees, see this page in the help file:

http://zpay.com/pw-online-help/module_11_2.htm?mw=MjMw&st=MQ==&sct=Mzgw&ms=AAA=

If you follow the instructions you will not have any problems as this is the first time anyone did have a commissions problem with our 9,000 plus users and me testing and retesting using the proper method and not seeing any problems in an area that has not been changed since the year 2000 in the program.

I have them all as hourly, as I always have. Haven't had a problem until this year. I don't know why it would just now start doing this. I suppose they could have been afterthoughts as you postulated, & coincidental that it happened the 1st time for 2 successive quarters this year.
Would you suggest I change them from hourly to commissioned or should I leave them as hourly? They are hourly + commission.
Thanks,
nw

Well, it was not designed to be hourly with commission as if you look at our tutorials, we open the appropriate tab for hourly, Salaried, Commissioned and 1099 payees. By flipping between tabs is how users make mistakes and that's what it looks like you've done. If you have been successful in the past, go ahead with what you are doing but slow down as like I said, it's easy to make a mistake when not using it as designed.

Just always be sure that you have the hours entered AND the commission before clicking the button to calculate the taxes and NEVER open a transaction with the way you have it set after it has been calculated and saved.

I had the same problem and discovered that it only happened when I used the 'calculator' attached to the box to figure the commission. I figure the commission separately and then just enter the number in the box.

Thanks for catching that, pressing the tab key will move it to the Commission entry field after using the calculator but this calculator problem will be fixed in the next release.
