I have not been able to save an employee payment transaction since June 4. I can input their hours, click Pay, then when I click on save & close -it does nothing. Please help!!!

Are you getting any error messages or possibly the bug report popping up? Do you have the current release of PayWindow which is 10.0.23? And are you using Avast Anti-virus? If so it blocks access to the PayWindow databases, see this FAQ:

There is no error message, it just does nothing and I have to select cancel to get out of the employee screen, which of course doesn't save the info. I was using Avira, which I uninstalled & installed Microsoft - I am still having the same problem. I have the most current version, all updates have been performed every two weeks for regular payroll.

I wonder if your database and documents folder is marked as read only. With Windows 7 and Vista, we've seen files and folder marked as read only. If you are running either of these there is a test to see if this is the problem.

"Right click" the "PayWindow Desktop Icon" and from the popup menu select "Run as Administrator" and see if you can pay and save the transactions. If you can, let me know and I;ll get you instructions to get your documents folder they way it should be.

OK, that proved that there was a problem with the files and most likely folders being marked as Read Only. You can fix that by opening the Windows Explorer and expand the Documents Folder so you can see the My Documents and the Public Documents folders. Right Click on the My Documents Folder to open the pop up menu.

And then select Properties at the bottom of that menu to open the Dialog Box as seen below. It will have that check box selected for Read only. Uncheck it and click on OK to process the change.
