View Full Version : employee data not importing PayW to SStaff

I am a new Pay Window user - just installed the software yesterday. I am trying to run my first payroll and import the payroll data to Shepherd's Staff. I get to the Import, and Setup, but when I click on the Vendor tab to link the Vendor from the Import file to the Vendor in Shepherd's staff,
1. there are only 7 vendors listed, and there should be 10, and
2. only two of the vendors are recognizable -- the others show up like this (or some variation) " -- 10, 0 "
Please help!

I'm, not sure what you are referring to when you said "Vendors" as PayWindow is for paying employees. TRAMS did give us instructions which are in this FAQ and in the set of instructions they gave us which is linked in the FAQ:

They refer to employees as Vendors in the setup screen -- and this is what it's supposed to look like (from the support documentation found at http://zpay.com/pdf-files/Importing-from-PayWindow-Payroll-System.pdf):

Ok, I hope that worked. I am using Shepherd's Staff, not TRAMS. For the first import, the instructions say you must link the vendor (employee) from the payroll file to the vendor (employee) in the Shepherd's Staff database.

OK, Shepherd's Staff I believe also exports to PayWindow. You may have to talk to them as to explain the problem as they actually go into our database and we really do not know what they do to help with this problem.

In further investigation, they use our GL Export and import that. I'm guessing that you may not have matched up the Employee ID in PayWindow with what you've set up in Shepherd's Staff. I'm sure their support staff can help get the setting correct.
