What am I missing, state tax is 3.07%. For an employee making 1600.00 it should be 49.12 but PayWindow is only taking 27.04 off. I keep trying different things but not changing. I'm confused.

Thank you.

It appears that you edited the Tax Table that you show. You gave the employees a minimum Standard Deduction of $99,999.00 which is subtracted from their annual gross wages before calculating the tax on the "Taxable Wages". Not knowing what else you changed in there, I suggest reinstalling PayWindow to replace the edited tax tables.

I just ran a test with the tax tables as we have in PayWindow and the test with $1600.00 was a state tax of $49.12 as expected.

Local 2% isn't coming out right either. For the same employee $1600.00 it's taking 17.61 off, according to my math 1600.00 x .02 = 32.00

I know there is something I'm missing. Worked great before the update.

Thanks
Dave

I just did a test and get the correct calculations. I'm guessing your did not read this page of instructions in the help file:

http://zpay.com/pw-online-help/Local.htm?mw=MjMw&st=MQ==&sct=ODQ4&ms=AAA=

I'm betting you edited the sample NYC tax record. Note the bold text in the help file that says "Do NOT use the example to create a tax record for your locality unless you are actually in New York City." That tax record has deductions that reduce the Gross Wages resulting in a much lower Taxable Wage.

If you follow the instructions by creating a new tax record and setting it up as shown on that page of the help file and attach it to the employee records, it will work as expected.

No, I had to hit the + to do new and created it since PA wasn't listed in the table.

It certainly is and has not had any change since 2010. Reinstall PayWindow to get your tax tables back to the default set of files.

You are going to need to call us on Monday so we can set up a web meeting as we need to delete the installed tax tables and reinstall PayWindow and then under my supervision, create a new local tax record and attach to your employees.

Just for anyone following this message thread, the problem was that the user had set all deductions accidentally as non-taxable which reduced the taxable wages. When setting up deductions, make sure you get advice from your accountant on what is and what is not taxable. See this page in the help file:
