Hello,
a convenience request if possible -
We are entering JE into Quickbooks each pay period and split the Employer and Employees taxes. We cannot find readily available Emploer's FICA amount for the pay period (we pay weekly). We need to calculate it from the Employer Payroll Total report (Federal) deducting the Employee's Fica from Emploer's Federal Liability.
When both amounts were evenly split (6.2%) the empoloees' FICA was the same.

If you are using the QuickBooks export tool in PayWindow, it uses stored data from the employee's transactions to transfer employee deductions and pay. The Employer's share of all tax liabilities is not stored in the employee transactions but calculated on the fly in our reports. So what you are doing would be correct to take the employer taxes from the Employer Totals Report the way you are.

We don't use QB export tool, just the reports from PayWindow. Not a big problem, just a small additional operation to get the number right... If it cannot be simply added to any existing report it's not that important.
