Hi Is there a report I can use that shows the employers contribution of 6.2% as a separate amount for each employee. The employer totals report lumps it. Getting over the flu maybe I am just not looking in the right place. Thanks again.

There is no government reports that call for the Employer's FICA being broken down by employee so there is no report for that. We actually calculate it on the fly using the taxable wages for the period, MTD, QTD and YTD and give it to you as your liabilities to pay on the Employer Totals Report.

So the short answer is that there is no way to get it unless you use the export file as that calculates it by employee taxable wages on the fly for each transaction.

Hmmm. I manually enter those amounts in Quickbooks based on the Zpay calculations in order to account for them. I figured 6.2% for each employee added it together for one pay and was 31 cents different. Uh oh....

You should enter the FICA when you pay, be it weekly, monthly or quarterly using the figures on the Employer Totals Report. The reason is that the report is what you pay which balances with the 941 Form when reporting.

Like we do here at ZPAY do, we pay our taxes on-line at www.eftps.gov (http://www.eftps.gov) and then enter the payment as a debit in QuickBooks as it was an electronic bank transfer to the IRS.

Okay will think this through. We also pay online. Maybe I don't really need to break it down and can just enter the whole amount. Oh well tomorrow is another day. I appreciate the way you always answer quickly.
