W-3 Box 12 A Deferred compensation

Hi Paul,

I just filed my SSA W-2 and W-3. I noticed PayWindow box 12 A is not totaled correctly for my employees. SSA website filled it in for me when I entered data from Zpays W-2. I created two types of 401(k) elective deductions in my company in PayWindow. It correctly fills in on the W-2 12a but on W-3 only the total of one employee is on PayWindow W-3 12a not the total.

You cannot use the “same line” in box 12 for more than 1 deduction. Those should be 12a, 12b and 12c so each prints on a different line in that box and so the totals are picked up.

You will need to prepare the W3 manually as those values are stored in the individual transactions, but change them for 2011.
