Hi Paul, my accountant brought to my attention that a pay date was missing from the totals. I have the report, and the backup, but the entire paydate totals are missing from YTD as of now. How do I get that pay data back in? I looked at the transactions and it is missing from there as well.

I don't have a clue what report you are referring to.

I'm sorry, the employer totals for the pay period. We print one after each pay. In the transactions, the entire pay is missing. Somehow the payroll is missing from current YTD totals and that will mess up my W-2's. I'm glad my accountant caught it, as we did the pay, and printed the reports, but the numbers are missing from just that pay.

Click Payroll and then Transaction and sort by Date by clicking on the "Date Paid" column title. Look at the last date paid, I'm betting you dated the payroll for 2001 which is why it is not showing up in the 2010 report.

The missing payroll is from 2/19/10. It is missing from the transactions as well as the totals of the last pay. It is like it vanished from the system. I have the backup dated 2/19/10 and on the reports the employer totals printout is dated 2/19/10. I also have the ach file from that date. I am running 5 different companies for accounting purposes, so we open 5 companies each paydate, and all others are there. the only one missing is from this date and company.

If you are positive it is missing from the transactions, then the only guess I have is you actually have more than one copy of that company database and the actual transactions are in the "other" copy.

Transactions don't just disappear and if that database has *all* transactions except that payroll perform it in that database and you will be good to go.

Ok, so just change date to that payroll, and re-enter all pay? I won't upload the DD file of course, or print reports if they match. I just don't want to make a mess and have a heck of a time fixing it now at the end of the year.

Thanks again for all the help!

That's correct. I would also search your hard drive with the Company Organizer tool to see where the second copy of that database is located, unless the problem was caused by restoring the previous backup over the current database.
