At the beginning of the year when our company switched to PayWindow, I had modified the design of the paycheck to suit the needs of our company.

When I recently downloaded and installed an update, my modified check design was gone, and I was back to square one with the old form.

This is a bug in software workflow design. I can do my own work-around, by redesigning the check, and saving a backup of the file pr_check1.frf in my documents, so that after the next update, I can relocate that file in the correct PayWindow folder, but even that assumes that the old check design will be compatible with the new.

I'm glad I can modify the check design, but an update should not have erased my work! Sorry guys!

I am truly sorry that you did not read the bold text warning notice when you learned about the unsupported feature of editing the checks in this FAQ:

http://zpay.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?32-Can-I-edit-the-Check-Format

Which reads as follows:

Be warned that if you do modify the check format you need to backup the new modified files (pr_check1.frf, pr_check1a.frf, pr_check2.frf and pr_check2a.frf are the file names) to a holding folder on your computer so you can restore them easily after updating PayWindow as our file will overwrite your file.

Since editing the checks is an unsupported feature, we always install *all* forms to insure our users have the most current versions of all form formats. When you decide to change the format, it is *your* responsibility as you see in that bold paragraph on the FAQ about editing checks.
