Hi!

In addition to our regular employees we hire interns from a federal jobs training program.

These interns are not subject to FUTA and SUTA and we can specify that they are not in the program.

In addition their wages are not subject to Workers Compensation premiums because they are covered under their training program.

I am looking for ways to automatically track their wages for WC purposes in the same way as we can declare whether an employee is subject to SUTA & FUTA.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

The only way I can think to keep those employees separate is to assign them employee number out of the range of your normal employees such as 9001 through 9999 and then use the filter to print reports, sort by Employee ID and start with and end with to just pull those up.

That makes sense but at the same time though it still requires manual calculations for liabilities.

I was just looking and noticed that the SDI field might do this for us. If I just treat the SDI as WC can I get SDI wages as a report?

SDI and W/C are one in the same. You can even change the name from SDI to W/C in the Tax Table setup.

I thought you wanted just the calculations of that specific group of employees. But for all, the info is on the Employers Totals Report.
