View Full Version : I can't seem to use the "New" Backup.

Backing up used to be so simple. I selected "backup" from the file menu and hit go or enter and it was done, offering me the name of the file it had used which was unique to that day and date.

Now when I hit "Company Backup" It is anything but friendly. There is a blank at the top asking for a directory location. It is empty and if you click on the selector at the right side it offers you an empty choice. I think I remember where the Paywindow backup folder is on my C: drive but I can't get there from this window. It will allow me to select drive C: but that's it. I can't continue opening until I get to my backup folder. Why can't it remember it like the older version 2008? Why can't I navigate to my backup folder? Will I have to remember the entire path and enter that into the "location" box by hand everytime I want to backup?

I must just be missing something. The last payroll, I had this same problem and was totally confused, but as I closed the program, I got a message that I hadn't backed up and it offered me the "old" familiar backup window with everything I needed already selected and ready for me to just hit OK and go.

I wondered at the time, "Where are they hiding this scenario in the menu bar.

This payroll I couldn't find that backup scenario and it didn't offer it to me as I closed, so I couldn't back up my files at all.
