in setting my company when i try to save it, i get "multi-step error check data". i've checked and rechecked everything and still get it. jimeiden

That's a Microsoft Database Tools error message. One of two things, a corrupt database or too old a version of MDAC and the Jet Engine installed.

Are you able to open our sample company file paywin.dxi?

If so then can you attempt to edit something like the company name and save it successfully?

If not, then you need to update the Microsoft MDAC and Jet Engine tools from Microsoft.

If you can do the above, it's possible that the company file you tried to create was corrupted. Try creating a different new company and see what happens.
