View Full Version : employee's payroll deduction for taxes owed to IRS
We just received a fax from the IRS informing us to deduct $30.00 per pay period from an employee, for taxes owed to the IRS, starting March 2009.
how do we set up this deduction in ZPay.

It depends on how you are then getting the money to the IRS. Did they just want you to take out an additional $30 per pay period along with the employee's FIT?
If so, simply enter $40 in the Employee Setting on the first page under Additional Federal Withholding.
If you need to collect it and then send it special to the IRS, set up a Miscellaneous Deduction. See the Tutorial titled "How to Setup Additional Deductions" at http://zpay.com/help.
we are on bi-weekly payroll
we will collect $60 for March 2009 and $90 if there are 3 pay periods
as we need to collect it and then send it special to the IRS by the 28th of each month
we will set this up as a Miscellaneous Deduction
