Stimulous Package - Now?

We ran a payroll today after updating PayWindow and the Tax files. I noticed that employees on fixed salaries had slightly smaller amounts deducted for Federal Tax.

I've seen mention of the lowered witholding taking place "by April 1st".

Is it OK with IRS that our employees' reductions started with today's payroll?

From Notice 1036 Resized February 2009:

"The IRS asks that employers begin using these tables in lieu of the applicable previously published tables as soon as possible, but no later than April 1, 2009."
