Editing Check Format

OK.. I'm using the 30 day trial... like everything about it so far EXCEPT I can't copy the Name to print above the written amount. I go to design, I've been above to move the date to where I want it, I can even draw a line across the top of the check (which I'll delete.. don't want it) and I can MOVE the employee name to above the cash amount (leaving the address below, where it will show up in the envelope window). But I can't copy the employee name cell, having it print both above and below the line (as it does using Quickbooks which I want to quit using because they make me so angry with their price hikes, sharp business practices, etc.)

Is copying a field in design mode not possible?

I really can't give you any help as editing checks is an unsupported feature. See this FAQ:
