My payroll data contains both ag (943) and non-ag (941 or in this case because the amounts are low, 944) employees. The 943 prints correctly. The employer totals report prints correctly for all employees or when filtered on employee code for 943 or for 941 employees.
However, on the 944, column 1 line 4a does not match 4c and is significantly lower. This results in a large adjustment on 6a so that the program can correctly calculate line 7 to match the employer totals report "Employer Federal Liabilities" (filtered for 941 employees). Line 4c matches "Earnings: Total Pay" on this employer totals report. All the "Wages Exceeding" amounts on this employer totals report are zero.
There should be no difference between the amounts subject to social security or medicare on this return. Total pay should be subject to both.
I believe the 944 line 4a is in error for my return, and my solution is to override 4a to match 4c and set the 6a adjustment to the fraction of cents necessary to add up to line 7.
I would be happy to send the database to you for ****ysis.
