How do I get the FUTA Form for 2008 before I upgrade to 2009? I just finished my last 2008 payroll, did Form 941 and Forms W2/W3 but the FUTA Form says 2007.

I am running:
PayWindow(tm) 2008 for Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP/VISTA Version: 6.0.12

The 2008 940 Form was just released two or three weeks ago and added to PayWindow 2009 as soon as we received it. Did you get the Upgrade Newsletters we sent out in December?

You need to get the Annual Upgrade to close out the year.

Go to http://zpay.com and click on Purchase and the use the Annual Upgrade link on that page. Then while waiting for the Unlock Code, use our Download page to download and install it. Don't forget to set the reporting year to 2008 when printing the 940 form since it is now 2009.

So the process is:
1. Upgrade to new sw -- including new tax tables? --and check for updates
2. Set date to 12/31/08.
3. Run 940 for 2008
4. Do end of year processing
5. Update tax tables after end of year processing?
6. Good to go for 2009 :)

Hi Paul, Installed my upgrade, ran W-2's, however my 940 form shows all zeros. Went back reset date again, made sure it said 2008 in lower left... still all zeros. I have closed out my year, however do have a good back up.
Please advise me of what I am doing wrong.

Hi Judy, If you ran the end of year tool, there is no data left as all transactions were deleted. Read the link I gave to Norm as it has instructions for the end of year.

Yes you will need to restore your 2008 data to print the 940 now.
