2009 Tax Tables

Your Announcement indicates that the 2009 tax tables will not be available until January 1, 2009. Our first payroll for 2009 has a check date of January 2 and due to our direct deposit must be prepared and calculated by December 30, 2008. Can you please advise as to how we should proceed? Thank you.

If you need to perform the payroll before the first of the year, it's OK as at the most it will only be a few dollars difference in the taxes.

The problem happens if you go for many months as that small difference will then start to add up and the employees would have a lot to settle up with at the end of the year.
