As I was purchasing the 2009 paywindow upgrade, I noticed that there was 0.87 of tax added to the order. That amount does not appear to be a state tax of any kind (I tried checking out with different states, both abbreviated and spelled out), so I am curious to which government entity is the 0.87 tax paid?

Send an email to support@esellerate.net as they are our reseller that handles all of our sales. They add tax to all orders in Minnesota as well as any states that have a reciprocal tax requirements.

Give them the Order number (starts with ST) as well as your name, address etc. so they can look up your order and give you the information on what it was.

I asked them about the tax and this is what they said:

"We here at eSellerate Software handle the shopping cart for the purchase of this product and for tax purposes, we are considered the seller. We are required to charge tax to customers living in any state where we have tax nexus. So we are required to charged tax to those living in CO, GA, IA, IL, MN, NE and UT."

I actually don't need the CD so I gave them a zip code of 20001 to skip the tax.

I've used paywindow for years. Your software is wonderful, so the CD is my free gift to the post office. :-)

I'm going to guess that you are in Colorado as searching for ".87" in the recent email receipts shows that is the tax on $35 in Colorado.

Then my next guess is that eSellerate uses the post office software like we do to correct the addresses and get the proper ZIP Codes.

The reason we ship a CD is that it has stopped software piracy completely as if it bounces back as undeliverable and we cannot contact the customer, we disable the registration code.

It's done the job we had hoped for when we added it quite a long time ago now. :)
