I live in the wonderful state of Texas and after so many quarters of paying into the SUTA they send you a letter to notify you that your SUTA rate has changed. The problem I am having is that I got the letter yesterday and its retoactive back to 4-1-08 thus I have already had 4 payrolls this quarter and need to adjust for this. I tried changing the under the state tax table and set the date to month 4 of 2008 thinking that would do it. Well it does change it but when I view the employer total reports for the first quarter they have also changed. I need to know how to have my tax rate for the first quarter of this year be 2.7% and then for the remaining quarters .1%. Is this possible?

You need to set your SUTA rate in the Company Settings under the SUTA Rate / SDI Override tab.

That will change it going forward. I'm not 100% positive but that alone may make the Employer Totals report give you the correct figures for this quarter. If not you will have the taxable amount that you can work out by multiplying it against the rate for the quarter.
