I have the trial version of ZPAY 2008. I have entered the correct information on the CA tables for taxes, however, when I checked these against the actual from our payroll service several employees did not match the CA W/H because one employee has 20 allowances. Where do you put in the amount per allowance even when calculating using the tables. Also, I noticed there are two tables one for 0-1 allowances and another for 2 or more. They used the 2 or more table and then our payroll service still multiplied the allowances times the exemption allowance table making his CA tax lower than by just using the table. Also there is no room for the two Married tables either or the exemption allowance table that I can find.

We have two CA tax records, one is for regular employees and the other for the "low income" employees.

In the employee setup, under the "Pay" tab where is says number of dependants... Enter the Federal and State exemptions and for California enter the number from the CA-DE4 form in the box provided.

Of course someone with 20 exemptions, will not pay a penny of Federal or state tax. :D

Thank you for your quick reply. I will check this out. However he makes so much that they do get CA state taxes from him. That's why I have the problem.
