Hi, I'm trying to set up payroll for our church. Our Pastors receive a non taxable Housing Allowance that will need to show on the paycheck stubs. Is there a way to include an additional earnings field or one of the existing fields when setting up an employee? I greatly appreciate any help I can get on this.

For a non-taxable payment, create a miscellaneous deduction in the Company Setup. Just type in the "Deduction Title" and do not touch any of the check boxes or anything else.
Then on Pay day when paying the Pastor, click the Pay button to calculate the taxes on the regular pay and then in the yellow box for that deduction, enter the amount as a negative such as -200.00 and press the Tab key to recalculate the net pay. Then Save and close the record.

I appreciate the rapid response to my problem. The only problem with this solution is that on the pay check stubs and reports it shows up under Deductions and as a negative #. This causes problems when an employee has give copies of their paycheck studs to a lending institution for the purpose of obtaining a loan. Is there a way to have the Housing Allowance show up under Earnings?

Only if you use a column like the Bonus except that would be taxed which you don't want.
Sorry.

I think it would be nice if the following features could be added in ZPAY, I used Oracle e-Business and Oracle JD Edwards Payroll I think these features would be nice in ZPAY as it would fit other countries besides USA.
Up to 100 possible deductions as either flat amount, % of basic salary or based on another benefits or deduction
Up to 100 possible benefits as either flat amount, % of basic salary or based on another benefits or deduction
The option to make the benefits and deduction recurring.
Thanks

PayWindow is an affordable start-up payroll system and not competition to the high priced models like the Oracle JD Edwards Payroll package. Instead of paying over a thousand dollars a year, we sell a basic payroll package to fit the needs of most startup companies. You cannot compare a $70 program to those that cost thousands of dollars.
If those are your needs, then that's what you need to get.
Sorry.
