View Full Version : Tax Table Maintenance Wizard Unable to create directory

I’m in a loop. I launched the setup program which kicked off the Tax Table Maintenance Wizard. Everything was going fine until I got to the Tax Table Confirmation screen. I selected Do NOT Install. The wizard closed and ended PayWindow. Every attempt to restart PayWindow keeps bringing me back to the Tax Table Maintenance Wizard. I select option 1. Press next. Verify my selection. Press Next. The next screen displays my option and tax table path. I press next and get an error message with the red X stating Unable to create directory. Now I’m stuck in this loop and unable to get to PayWindow. I verified that there is a PayWindow Tax Files directory already created. I tried to remove the directory so the wizard could create a new directory and I get a message saying “The system cannot find the file specified.”

Had the same situation. Changed the folder's name and it started OK. Then I closed the program, out of curiosity changed back to what it was and this time program started OK. I don't understand why that happened though and don't know whether changing the directory's name had anything to do with it... Strange. Good luck!

We need to disable the Do Not Install button on the first run as it must be run the first time that 6.0.10 and newer is installed. You will need to reinstall and be sure that you do not select Do Not Install.

There is no Reinstall option on my 2008 PayWindow CD? Are you recommending that I do a complete new installation of PayWindow 2008?

JASANTON: Thanks for the suggestion. I tried renaming the folder and got the same results, Unable to create directory. The wizard creates a new empty tax files folder and I am still in a loop.

There is no Reinstall option on my 2008 PayWindow CD? Are you recommending that I do a complete new installation of PayWindow 2008?
